Three kilometres away from Riva del Garda there is a delicious place of enchanting natural beauty, a heavenly landscape where the elements of nature harshly collide to give life to a unique spectacle which in its complexity appears impressive and pleasant at the same time: the Varone Waterfall.

The Varone Waterfall has an ancient history since it originates from the dissolution of the Garda glacier in prehistoric times, and represents an exemplary geological rarity.

The cascade has only become easily visited in recent years, since before there existed no trails fitted with bridges and balustrades that made it easy for all to get there.

A gorge 73 metres high and 55 metres deep characterizes the cascade, with an impressive waterfall that can be seen from two different positions allowing to admire different scenery: the first position is from below, in the lower cave, that allows to see the final phase of the cascade, whereas the second one is in the upper cave, 40 metres above the first, where it is possible to see the full show.

The strange construction at the entrance of the cascade was designed by the same architect that designed the Vittoriale degli Italiani (Shrine of Italian Victories) in Gardone, and opens the view to a private natural parkof undoubted beauty, and to a botanical garden fully preserved thanks to permanent maintenance and care: a delicious ecological niche that alternates extraordinarily Mediterranean vegetation and trees typical of the mountain setting.

Close to the cascade entrance there is an area fitted with tables that the visitors will find available for picnics in the open air and a bar and gift shop.
